Washington
Warm early fall weather has pushed the corn harvest nearly two weeks ahead of schedule. Yields have returned to average for the late season, and the organic sweet corn wrapped up on a strong note. All organic fields went A grade and yielded right in line with forecast. The Pasco corn harvest is now complete, finishing much earlier than a typical year.
Michigan
September brought unpredictable weather to Michigan. The month opened with below-average temperatures, with daytime highs in the low 60s and nights dipping into the upper 30s. After the first week, conditions returned to normal with very little precipitation. As we move later into the season, the shorter days and limited sunlight have slowed bean maturity despite recent highs in the upper 70s.
