We are currently 40% complete with our corn harvest. The projected end day for corn in the Pasco area is October 26. We are pleased to report that we have maintained A grade since the beginning of the season, and yields have been excellent. Due to early season windstorms, our harvesting team has implemented countermeasures to prevent down corn by topping some of our later fields. In Ellensburg, the corn harvest is expected to conclude by September 25. Looking ahead, carrots are anticipated to begin harvest around October 1-2 in Ellensburg. Both organic and conventional carrot crops are looking strong at this point.
Michigan
Our organic green bean harvest is now complete. This season, the organic green beans have shown great quality with above average yields, thanks in large part to favorable weather conditions in Michigan. We experienced slightly cooler than average temperatures and timely rainfall, which, combined with the growers’ excellent weed control and soil cultivation efforts, ensured the plants received the necessary nutrients and moisture to produce such high-quality crops.
